Delegation course

By delegating more or more cleverly, you can concentrate better on the big picture within your organisation, so that you can achieve higher-level objectives more often. In addition, you offer your employees opportunities for further development. By delegating well, you get more involved and motivated employees. In short: a stronger organisation and more freedom of movement for you.

But which tasks can you delegate? And to whom? And how do you keep them as motivated as you are? Finding the right balance is not always easy. In our Delegation training we test and improve your delegation skills. You get clarity on how delegation suits your position, how you approach it and what the common pitfalls are, so you can avoid them.

  • The art of delegation: What is delegating and what is not? We discuss the pros and cons, common pitfalls and how delegation fits your position.

  • Delegate and monitor: Which tasks do you delegate to which colleague? And how do you keep them as motivated as you are? What are criteria for a suitable task and how do you choose the right person for it?

  • Fundamental interview techniques for delegating: Which communication skills make delegating easier?

  • Creating commitment: How do you ensure that you (together with your) colleague takes responsibility and makes the right effort? We deal with the sharing of responsibility, granting authority and limits, managing and coaching, and following up on agreements made.

After the training:

  • recognise where new opportunities for colleagues lie;
  • you have developed the technique of clearly defining expectations;
  • you know how to set clear expectations;
  • you are able to find the right balance between maintaining control and giving confidence;
  • You can instruct assertively and in a focused way, allowing you to
  • Keeping a grip on the process, without doing the work yourself.

Target group

The training is ideally suited to participants who have difficulty handing over tasks, want to make use of their employees' new abilities, want to give themselves and their employees more freedom, and participants who want to spend more time on their core tasks.

Working method

  • Customisation is our focus: through a telephone intake interview, the trainer makes an inventory of your personal learning goals. On this basis, the definitive programme of the training course is determined.
  • We believe a safe training atmosphere is important, as you should feel comfortable experimenting with new knowledge and skills.
  • We strongly believe in doing and experiencing, rather than talking about the content of trainings, which is why all our trainings are active in nature.
  • In order to guarantee the quality of the training, we apply a maximum group size of eight participants, so that we can guarantee the learning effect and efficiency.

The training is provided in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of the English language. Use can be made of course material in English. With a minimum of three participants, the training can also be provided entirely in English.

R. Swets, Royal Haskoning - Delegate

"A training that is tailored to the practice with a personal approach, so that the learning objectives were applied directly in the training. Theory is patient, but applying it through role-playing and video-recordings was a good learning experience. This was complemented by positive feedback from the trainer and the other participants. Worthwhile." - Rating: 8.0
