Do you want to automate common actions in Excel? This is possible with macros. Fortunately, this is not difficult and everyone can learn it. Macros allow you to record a series of actions and repeat them with a press of a button. During this training you learn how to create, understand and edit macros. You will also learn how to create links with other Office programmes such as Word, Access and PowerPoint.

This training is the second half of the training Excel Expert. During the first half, formulas, functions and pivot tables are discussed.

The trainer

During the training you will be guided by a social and competent trainer. At the beginning of the training, the trainer will discuss your entry level and what you want to get out of the training, so that you can focus on topics and exercises that are important to you.

Which version? 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016.

When you register, you can fill in which version you are using. Our planners will then ensure that you can follow the training in the correct software version with the material written for this version.

Case studies

It is possible to bring along practical examples from your work situation so that you can work in an even more focused way and it is clear what your goal is from this training. The topics and exercises will be tuned to this.


On completion of the training you will be able to use macros to create links with other programmes, such as Access and PowerPoint. You will know how to apply macros to automate common actions and how to modify macros in the editor.

Prior knowledge

For this training, previous knowledge at the level of Excel Basic level recommended. To determine how much prior knowledge you have and which course is suitable for you, we set a online course guide available.


This training can be followed in different versions. Please indicate whether you use Excel 2007, 2010, 2013 or 2016.

Course format

This training is offered on the basis of our Open Learning Method. This means that under the active guidance of our trainer, you work independently to master the material. This enables you to achieve your learning goals at your own pace without being hindered by the faster or slower pace of your fellow course members. The trainer will make sure you stay on track and achieve your learning goals. This type of learning allows for customisation. You are given the opportunity to bring in examples from your own practice and IT environment, which will help you learn even more specifically .


The training is provided in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of the English language. Use can be made of course material in English. With a minimum of three participants, the training can also be provided entirely in English.


Prices mentioned are per person, including course material. Lunch is included in the on-site training.

The training takes 2 sessions of 3 hours, spread over 2 weeks.
