Course on dealing with your own frustrations and emotions in the workplace

Everyone can get angry. However, getting angry at the right person, at the right time, for the right reason and in the right way is not within everyone's power. - Aristotle

Do you sometimes react to your boss more fiercely than you would like? Or are you shocked by the way you vent your frustrations on a colleague? Anger and frustration can damage relationships with colleagues and also consume energy. Your emotions and reactions say a lot about the way you look at life, how you interpret the behaviour of others and how balanced your own life is. If you are able to manage your emotions and frustrations, you will make life a lot easier for yourself and others. You will feel calmer and happier and your relationships with family, friends and colleagues will improve.

The training 'Dealing with your own frustrations and emotions in the workplace ' provides you with techniques for dealing effectively with your own emotions and frustrations. You will learn how to keep calm and react to situations in the right way. After the training you will know how to look at the same situation from different points of view and you will understand how to apply this knowledge in conversations with others. This leads to a greater mutual understanding and you will be better able to achieve your personal goals. Attention is also paid to understanding yourself better: why are you frustrated, what do the accompanying emotions do to you and what does this trigger in you? You learn to recognise warning signals in time and to discuss frustration and anger in time. You learn to make a controlled choice in your way of reacting, instead of letting yourself be led by your impulses. After the training you will be better able to control your emotions and frustrations.

Teaching methodology

In the training we alternate between concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and techniques, reflecting and exploring theory. This way, the training programme fits in well with all types of participants. There is a lot of action in the training, so you actually experience the effect of new behaviour. This enables the recognition of success. We also emphasise that everyone is responsible for his or her own growth process and must take ownership of it. In our training we invite you to continuously reflect and make connections with practice. Our aim is to increase your insight and to let you make the translation yourself. This will increase the chance of real behavioural change.

W. van Gool, Innofa B.V. - Dealing with your own frustrations and emotions in the workplace

"I really enjoyed these training days. What I found most special was the insight you gain into your own actions and how they come across to others. The fact that you evoke the opposite in people of what you want to achieve is something I could not see myself. A real eye-opener was the drawing of the 'problem'. This made it something very simple and small, something you could oversee and could work with. In the end, you will have to work on yourself and want to change. This training has inspired me to really go for it. The theory may not have been very innovative, but the way the training was given and the tools you get, made me switch to working on myself." - Rating: 9.6

T. Wijnen, Océ-Technologies B.V. - Dealing with your own frustrations and emotions in the workplace

"In the training you learn first of all how you come across to others and that is really different than you often think. This image determines how a situation can go. J. Knol, Province of South Holland - Dealing with your own frustrations and emotions in the workplace

"This course offers deep insights into the story behind certain forms of behaviour. Why do I not react adequately in some situations? You have to be prepared to open up and go very deep.
