Java Enterprise Edition course

Develop complex business applications with J2EE

Java 2 Enterprise Edition, or J2EE for short, is ideally suited to developing complex business applications. This version of Java offers extensive support for the infrastructure of a distributed business application. It also offers optimum facilities for authentication, simultaneous use by multiple users, automated data storage, data integrity and integration of older applications. This makes the application possibilities endless.

During the five-day Java Enterprise Edition course you learn to develop professional and advanced enterprise applications. From light to heavy business applications. And from internal business applications to online applications with many users and high availability.

Contents

During the five-day Java EE course you will work with the modules within the Java Enterprise Edition. You are introduced to the three-tier philosophy and learn how this concept is applied in J2EE. You will also learn to work with Java Server Pages, Enterprise Java Beans and the most commonly used terms and expressions. Finally, you will work with common applications and actions, such as RESTful Webservices, Websockets and Java testing.

Topics

The J2EE course covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to Java EE
  • The three-tier philosophy (Model-View-Controller principle)
  • Java Server Pages (JSPs):
  • Dynamically generate HTML, XML or other content with Java Server Pages (JSPs)
  • JSP syntax, directives, actions, script elements and variables
  • JSP tag library
  • Java Persistence API (JPA): establish a relationship between your database and Java classes
  • What is Object Relational Mapping (ORM)?
  • What is a POJO and how can you modify it for storage in a database?
  • Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB): communication, persistence, transactions, parallel execution, security
  • Dependency Injection: develop individual components and connect them together
  • How do you make a Java EE application safe?
  • Java Messaging Service (JMS)
  • Designing APIs with RESTful Webservices
  • Using Java Websockets
  • Servlets
  • Java EE Testing

Target group

The Java EE course is intended for experienced Java Developers who wish to develop high-traffic and multi-user business applications.

Teaching methodology

Learnit offers the J2EE course as classroom training. The training takes place in small groups and is given by an experienced trainer.
