Negotiation Course

Negotiation is the process of exploring each other's interests and conditions in order to reach an agreement that is acceptable to both parties. As a negotiator, your task is to ensure that your interests are optimally reconciled with those of the other party, so that there is a win-win situation for both parties. Assertiveness, questioning techniques and persuasiveness are indispensable skills. It is very well possible to learn these skills and become more aware of your own behaviour at the negotiating table.

In our two-day Negotiation Training we will do exercises to find out which techniques fit best with your personal negotiation style. You will gain insight into the negotiation process and learn to set negotiation objectives. We will work with questioning techniques and convincingly present arguments. After the training, you will be able to negotiate firmly and you will be better able to represent the interests of yourself or your organisation.

Teaching methodology

The description above gives a good indication of what the training will look like. Nevertheless, the content may differ slightly per training. At Learnit Training we think in terms of customisation: the practical situations of the participants are always our starting point and end point. During individual intake interviews prior to the training the learning goals of the participants are inventoried. On this basis, the final training programme is determined. Learning by experiencing is the most important thing in our training, because nothing is as demotivating as a teacher who spends all his or her time talking. The training requires active commitment and ownership from each participant, resulting in the discovery and development of new skills and possibilities.

Target group

This training is ideally suited for participants who often find themselves in negotiating positions and feel they can get more out of them, and for those who want to be more assertive during a negotiation.

Prior knowledge

No previous knowledge is required for this training.


The training is provided in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of the English language. Use can be made of course material in English. With a minimum of three participants, the training can also be provided entirely in English.


Prices mentioned are per person, including course material. Lunch is included in the on-site training.

We also organise this training online. For this we use Webbex or Zoom. Login with Skype is also possible. On request, this training can also be organised with Microsoft Teams.

The training lasts 4 sessions of 3 hours, spread over 4 weeks.
