Neurolinguistic programming (NLP) course: an introduction

NLP is a personal development method that helps you to use your capacities to the full. The method is based on the idea that what someone else can achieve, you can also achieve, with the underlying idea that it is possible to understand and learn the strategies that lie behind successful behaviour in others. The foundations of the method were laid in the 1970s in the United States. Over the past decades, NLP has grown to become a valuable method that is used worldwide in education, business, coaching and various forms of therapy.

In NLP, the spotlight is on the patterns that drive human communication and behaviour. NLP enables us to change these patterns and structures, but also to learn new patterns. The method rejects the notion that we are at the mercy of the context in which we live, in which we grow up. Thanks to our inner resources - and the right motives - we are able to detach ourselves from these environmental factors and achieve the goals we have in mind. NLP provides the tools to manage these resources.

In the training Neurolinguistic programming (NLP): an introduction you will learn to think 'out of the box'. It gives you a new view on reality which makes it possible to realise your goals. NLP teaches you to build rapport - to communicate optimally with your environment, free from subjective value judgements. The results of NLP are impressive. A few examples in a row: more confidence in yourself and in your capacities (what someone else can do, you can also learn), easier learning, less worrying, improved communication with others and yourself, being able to think and act more creatively, being able to regulate emotions and gaining insight into your most important life goals and being able to realise these.

  • Insight into your own world model: how do you look at the world and what does that mean for you and your environment?
  • Communicating according to NLP: how to increase the effect of your communication?
  • Build rapport: build stronger relationships with the people around you
  • Setting and achieving goals: what needs to happen for you so that you do achieve your goals?
  • Anchoring: how does our brain react to signals and how can you control your brain in this?

Teaching methodology

In the training we alternate between concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and techniques, reflecting and exploring theory. This way, the training programme fits in well with all types of participants. There is a lot of action in the training, so you actually experience the effect of new behaviour. This enables the recognition of success. We also emphasise that everyone is responsible for his or her own growth process and must take ownership of it. In our training we invite you to continuously reflect and make connections with practice. Our aim is to increase your insight and to let you make the translation yourself. This will increase the chance of real behavioural change.

This training is intended as an introduction for anyone interested in NLP.

"In a nutshell: After the training I had more insight into myself. I learned that learned patterns can be broken. I also learned to recognise the drives of others and how to respond/act to them in order to ultimately influence them. All in all, an excellent training that taught me that you are responsible for your own learning process. - Rating: 7.8

"Until the training, NLP was more abracadabra. What I could really do with it was not clear to me. The training of Learnit gave me a clear picture of what I could do with this material. Not only in my job as a communication advisor, but especially when I was thinking about my future. Listening to your feelings gets a concrete meaning with NLP! - Rating: 7.0

R. Snikkers, Verzinkerij Meerveldhoven - Neurolinguistic programming (NLP): an introduction

"If this training appeals to you and you are willing to allow yourself to be vulnerable, you can learn a lot that will be very useful in your work and personal life. M. van Duin, Rabobank - Neurolinguistic programming (NLP): an introduction

"Excellent training, good variation between personal situations, practical exercises and theory. A lot of in-depth action, but that is also necessary in this training. The trainer is experienced and handles the different problem approaches well. Also when it is emotional. He remains calm and explains well the intention of an exercise and the teaching material." - Rating: 8.0

M. Thannhauser, Wetterskip Fryslân - Neurolinguistic programming (NLP): an introduction

"My impression of the training is that it is instructive. You are brought back to yourself. In the end, everything comes from you, including the changes you want to make. My slogan is always: "I know it all, but doing it...". During the training you are again aware of everything and how you do it. That is good! I think the basic training of two days is too short. As far as I am concerned, it could be four days." - Rating: 8.0

J. Groenhof, Education Executive Agency - Neurolinguistic programming (NLP): an introduction

"Many recognisable things, some nice eye openers. Good introduction to NLP. I find the trainer very pleasant and accessible. Remains open and gives space, but also knows how to take it back." - Rating: 9.6
