RET course: Stop worrying
It is not the things themselves that upset people, but their thoughts about them. - Epictetus (philosopher, 55-135 AD)
Often it is not events themselves that upset us, but the way we think about them and how we deal with them. This means that the solution to a problem is often in your own hands. By transforming ineffective thoughts and feelings into effective ones, you will feel more confident and better able to achieve your personal goals.
In the RET training : Stop Worrying, obstructive situations, thoughts and feelings will be analysed in more detail. By increasing the insight into how your body and mind work, you will be able to understand your behaviour better. By step-by-step confronting the obstructing thoughts and in addition practising with practical situations, you will start exhibiting more effective behaviour. After the training, you will be able to act more confidently, flexibly and decisively. RET was originally devised by psychologist Albert Ellis. Our training courses are supervised by psychologists who are specialised in providing training courses in the area of personal development.

In the training we alternate between concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and techniques, reflecting and exploring theory. This way, the training programme fits in well with all types of participants. There is a lot of action in the training, so you actually experience the effect of new behaviour. This enables the recognition of success. In addition, we emphasise that everyone is responsible for his or her own growth process and must take ownership of it. In our training we invite you to continuously reflect and make connections with practice. Our aim is to increase insight and to let you make the translation yourself. This will increase the chance of real behavioural change.
The training is intended for all interested parties, but is particularly suitable for participants who have a perfectionist tendency, who find it difficult to say 'no', who do not dare to speak in front of a group, who find it difficult to delegate or to handle a conflict. This training is also suitable for participants who find it difficult to disappoint people or have the feeling that they let themselves be walked over too easily.
No previous knowledge is required for this training.
The course description above gives you a good indication of what the training will look like. However, the content may vary slightly from training to training, depending on the prior knowledge, practical experience and learning goals of the participants. In individual intake interviews prior to the training, the learning goals of the participants are inventoried. The definitive programme of the training course is determined on this basis.
