Course SQL Training E-learning

Use SQL to retrieve data from a relational database

In this e-learning course SQL, you will learn how to easily retrieve data from a relational database using the query language SQL (Structured Query Language). SQL was developed in the 1970s and there have been many SQL versions since then. In the 1980s, SQL was standardised. Of course, several renovations of the program followed and will follow. SQL allows you to modify, manipulate data and change table structures. SQL is widespread and its use is often in combination with other programming languages, such as PHP, ASP and VBA. In this online course, you will learn the basic variant of SQL and we will explain the possible differences with for example Oracle SQL or another relational database.

SQL uses so-called queries for communication with the DBMS (Data Base Management System). A query is an ASCII character string and a command that is sent to the DBMS. The DBMS will interpret and execute the command and possibly send data back to the program. SQL is not imperative but declarative and is a fourth generation language.

The content of the SQL e-learning course
