learnit Time management

Timemanagement course

Do you feel that you are running after yourself and often lack time? That the pressure of work is constantly increasing and that you can no longer find a good balance between work and private life? Then it would be wise to take a good look at where you spend your time. Measuring is knowing!

In our two-day Time Management training we work with distinguishing urgent tasks, setting priorities and making choices, and structuring your work. If you get a (better) grip on this, you will have a clearer overview of what needs to be done in the time available, which in turn will lead to less stress.

Because time management is primarily self-management, we also focus on who you are. What role do you play at work? How are the relationships with colleagues? Is it clear what tasks you are judged on? And do you dare to set limits and delegate where necessary? Assertiveness, delegation and stress management are skills that are central.

During the training the following topics, among others, will be discussed:

  • Basic principles of time management:

    Overview, planning, peace and communication.

  • Structuring the work:

    Long-term, medium-term and short-term jobs.

  • Setting priorities and making choices:

Time management = self-management. Which tasks are important/not important and urgent/non-urgent? We work with the Eisenhower model.

  • Delegate:

Which tasks are you assessed on and which are not? What could you delegate and how would you go about it? Indicate clearly and concretely what you want and expect.

  • Assertiveness:

When do you find it difficult to say no? And what is the effect? And what are your reasons for saying no? We pay attention to indicating your boundaries. When you say yes to someone else, you say no to yourself.

  • Communicating effectively:

How does the communication process work and what pitfalls are lurking?

  • Setting achievable goals using SMART:

Well-formulated resolutions are easier to fulfil.

  • Stress Management:

A little tension puts you on edge, but too much stress is awkward. How can you reduce it? Using the RET method, we examine your (limiting) convictions and tackle the cause. Thinking differently = doing differently.

  • Practical tips:

    Useful tools and apps

We mainly practice with situations that occur in your practice, so that you can immediately connect with them. We ask for this in a telephone intake prior to the training. Each practical exercise is accompanied by a short theoretical component, to provide a clear framework. We conclude the training by drawing up a personal action plan, so that you have tools to work with in practice.

After the training:

  • You can set priorities and make choices
  • Structuring your work
  • you are aware of your role at work, and
  • Dare to delegate where necessary.

Target group

This training is ideally suited if you often lack time for your feelings. Do you recognise yourself in one or more of the points below?

  • You can no longer find a good balance between work and private life
  • Your workload is constantly increasing
  • You would like more insight and structure in your work
  • You want to (better) set your boundaries

Of course, this list is not complete: everyone is different. What do you want to focus on within the theme of time management?

Teaching methodology

In the training we alternate between concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and techniques, reflecting and exploring theory. This way, the training programme fits in well with all types of participants. There is a lot of action in the training, so you actually experience the effect of new behaviour. This enables the recognition of success. We also emphasise that everyone is responsible for his or her own growth process and must take ownership of it. In our training we invite you to continuously reflect and make connections with practice. Our aim is to increase your insight and to let you make the translation yourself. This will increase the chance of real behavioural change.

The course description above gives you a good indication of what the training will look like. However, the content may vary slightly from training to training, depending on the prior knowledge, practical experience and learning goals of the participants. In individual intake interviews prior to the training, the learning goals of the participants are identified. The definitive programme of the training course is determined on this basis.

The training is provided in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of the English language. Use can be made of course material in English. With a minimum of three participants, the training can also be provided entirely in English.

"Some things you secretly know about yourself but the course gives you a bit of help on how to break through this. You get information quickly and have good contact with the course leader in between. I now make my own list for the whole week and plan everything I want to do in it. I now plan more free time in, which is something that often slips by because I spend too much time on a job. I definitely have more tools to ensure that I am more in control both at work and at home. Highly recommended!" - Rating: 8.9
