Yes, I want to know more

"The recruitment and selection training is highly recommended. You learn to use the STAR method to get much more information from your applicant that he would not normally give you because applicants often answer standard questions that you also want to hear. The trick is to present situations to them and then ask questions about them, so that you get a much more honest picture of your applicant. Great tips and tricks." - Rating: 10.0

Recruitment and selection course: conducting job interviews

Of course someone puts their best foot forward during a job interview. But how do you find out if the applicant is really suitable for the job? And how do you select the most suitable person in the first place? Making the right decision after a job interview is an important, but often difficult task. However, it can save a lot of time and money if you make the right choice. Therefore, it is of course important to obtain as much relevant information as possible about the suitability of the candidate during the interview. You want to find out whether the candidate has the desired expertise, skills and talents, but preferably also what his or her personal goals and motives are. The job interview offers excellent opportunities for this, which you can learn to make good use of.

During our two-day training Recruiting and Selection: interviewing you will work with questioning techniques and learn to interpret non-verbal signals. You learn how to initiate, steer and limit a conversation. You also learn to name and address doubts about shortcomings. Together with the other participants, you practice different conversation situations. You discover that by practising and receiving feedback from the trainer, your conversation skills take a positive turn.

Results

After attending the training:

  • You will be able to conduct job interviews more effectively;
  • you can better assess whether a candidate matches the profile drawn up for the vacancy, and
  • you know how to take and keep control of the conversation.

Teaching methodology

In the training we alternate between concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and techniques, reflecting and exploring theory. This way, the training programme fits in well with all types of participants. There is a lot of action in the training, so you actually experience the effect of new behaviour. This enables the recognition of success. We also emphasise that everyone is responsible for his or her own growth process and must take ownership of it. In our training we invite you to continuously reflect and make connections with practice. Our aim is to increase your insight and to let you make the translation yourself. This will increase the chance of real behavioural change.

Target group

This training is ideally suited for HR employees or managers and recruiters who supervise recruitment and selection procedures and regularly conduct job interviews. Do you recognise yourself in one or more of the points below?

  • You want more knowledge and insight into systems and structures for conducting good selection interviews
  • You want to get a good idea of the potential of applicants at an early(er) stage
  • You want to train yourself in conversation skills such as questioning and directing the conversation
  • You want to strike a balance between inviting but formal speaking

Of course, this list is not complete: everyone is different. What do you want to pay attention to in recruitment and selection?
