Course dealing effectively with aggression (for Boas)

Nowadays many Dutch municipalities choose to have their enforcers follow a training to an extraordinary investigating officer (BOA). The basic training to BOA, however, focuses on the legal area in particular. The communicative skills that are necessary to treat responsibly are not trained by default in the basic training, which means that we have developed a one-day training effectively with aggression (For Boas) .

In the training, attention is paid to the de-escalation of (verbally) aggressive and violent situations, so that enforcers can intervene properly in the behaviour of the users of the outside area. Communication (Verbal and non-verbal) with citizens and offenders can, by acting functionally and effectively, de-escalate, thus minimising the relationship between hand-held and offender, and the image of-and judgment over-the municipality does not affect.

In the training you will be able to discuss different techniques such as feathers, broken records, gate places, boundaries, active listening, summaries and questions. It is essential to gain an understanding of its own role and to live in the citizen's reference framework. In this way, the aim is to make the intervention and sanctioning process as effective as possible.

These subjects can be interwoven with other modules such as behavioural disorders: professional handling of problem behaviour and Intercultural Communication, as the learning objectives sometimes touch and overlap. The training is actively practised with an actor, so that the scholar can be applied directly in Praktijkgerelateerde role-playing games.

Lesmethodiek

In the training we alternate between practical experience, experimenting with behavior and techniques, reflecting and exploring theory. This will close the training program to all type of participants. There is a lot of action in the training, so you actually experience the effect of new behavior. This enables the recognition of success. We also emphasise that everyone is responsible for their own growth process and must take ownership of them. In Our training We invite you to reflect continuously and to make connections with the practice. Our aim is to increase understanding and make your own translation. This will increase the likelihood of real change in behaviour.

Target

This training is ideally suited for participants who are dealing with aggression in their work environment, such as intervention staff, parking inspectors, environmental inspectors, tax inspectors, cooperating for men and team leaders.

Prior knowledge

No prior knowledge is required for this training. The training fits in with BOA training.

Custom

The course description above gives a good indication of what the training will look like. However, the content may vary slightly per training, depending on the knowledge, practical experience and learning objectives of the participants. Individual intake interviews prior to the training will be used to enumerate the learning objectives of the participants. On this basis, the final programme of the training is determined.

Language

The training is provided by default in Dutch. The trainer controls the English language. English course material can be used. When registering at least 3 participants, the training can also be provided entirely in English.

The training lasts 2 sessions of 3 hours, spread over 2 weeks.
