Employment Contract Course: rights and obligations

HRM or PO employees generally play a major role in the recruitment and selection, appointment and further functioning of employees. An important aspect of this is the drafting and, if necessary, extending a written employment contract. A contract of employment is much more than a few sheets of paper. In practice, the vast majority of mutual rights and obligations are not regulated in the written employment contract, but in laws, collective bargaining and other regulations.

In the training employment contract: rights and obligations are explained in a clear and straightforward manner which regulations and case-law are important for the conclusion and renewal of an employment contract. It also examines the rules and case-law relevant to the mutual rights and obligations of employer and employee. It goes without saying that the recent legislative changes in the Work and Security Act (WWZ) are also addressed. Human Resource Management and labour law are inextricably linked. A thorough basic knowledge of labour law is therefore of great importance.

  • Rights and obligations during the application procedure
  • Medical fitness and the appointment verification
  • When is there a contract of employment? Sometimes even if nothing is on paper
  • Schriftelijkheidsvereiste of certain terms, including the period of

  • Chain regulation: Extension of a fixed-term employment contract.
  • Terms of renewal, timing, requirements and pitfalls
  • Flexible employment contracts: call, zero hours and Min/max
  • Freedom of contract versus mandatory law
  • Application CAO
  • Employer Instruction Right
  • Good employeeship
  • Timesheet modification, Function change

This training is ideally suited for HRM or PO employees, or employees who perform part tasks in the field of HRM or PO. The training focuses on the regulation of the regular employment law, but not on the civil Service Law.

Required knowledge

No prior knowledge is required for this training.

The training changes theory with practical examples, so that the theory can also be clearly placed in a recognizable framework. There is also the opportunity to discuss problems encountered by the students in their own work situation. This allows students to learn from each other what different problems occur in daily practice. And the students get direct grips on how to handle them.

Training materials

The training material contains a syllabus, with a clear outline of the main lines of laws and regulations and case-law in each subject. In addition, you will receive a book, in which the entire labour law is explained in brief. This will be, depending on the question of which publishing house has the most recent pressure, "the small Guide to Dutch labour law" or "Tree Basics Labor Law".

The course description above gives you a good indication of what the training will look like. However, the content may vary slightly per training, depending on the knowledge, practical experience and learning objectives of the participants. Individual intake interviews prior to the training will be used to enumerate the learning objectives of the participants. On this basis, the final programme of the training is determined.
