Assertiveness is the defending of your own interests, without walking over the interests of another. It does not mean that you have a lack of self-confidence or are shy, but has everything to do with how you hándelt in relation to the other. It is therefore a means of communication to achieve your goals, where mutual respect is central. In the training we pay attention to the clear (daring) making of your opinion and the way you profile yourself.

Course assertiveness: Get up for yourself

Assertiveness is the defending of your own interests, without walking over the interests of another. If you are able to react assertively, you increase the chance to achieve your goals. By a correct approach you can build up pleasant relationships with others, in which mutual respect is central.

In the training assertiveness: Standing up for yourself you learn to act self-consciously, with mutual respect Central. Assertiveness is a means of communication to achieve your goals, because it has everything to do with how you hándelt in relation to the other. We are therefore going to work on the clear (daring) making of your opinion and the way in which you profile yourself.

Topics

During the training, the following topics are covered:

  • What is assertiveness though and what is it not?: The difference between assertiveness, Subassertiviteit and aggressiveness.

  • The role of communication and reference frameworks: sending, receiving and interpreting. Not what you dóet, but how the other interpretéért determines the behavior of the other.

  • Interpreting Non-Verbal and Verbal behavior: You always communicate and especially without words!

  • Say No and set limits: How do you give (non) verbally your limits? How to get out of your mind and explain your expectations?

  • Give and Receive Feedback: Assertiveness implies that you dare to appoint your feelings and that this may be there. We'll get started with the feedback lines.

  • Purposeful communication: How do you influence someone without manipulating?

  • Dealing with obstructive thoughts and emotions: What is your way to stand up for your own interests?

Results

  • You are aware of your own qualities and pitfalls and what effect this has on others;
  • You have enlarged the understanding of where your boundaries lie;
  • You can use the right communication techniques to express your interests and achieve your goals and
  • You know how to profile yourself vigorously.

Target

This training is ideally suited for participants who want to come to more assertive. Do you recognize yourself in one or more of the following points?

  • I want to have trouble (at the right moments) to realize my goals;
  • I want to be better at my own interests;
  • I want to take initiative, be clear in what I want and be able to profile myself well;
  • I would like to draw attention to the discussions and make my opinion clear.

Method

  • Customised work is central to us: by means of an intake interview the trainer will enumerate your personal learning goals. On this basis, the final programme of the training is determined.
  • We find a safe training atmosphere important because you have to feel comfortable when experimenting with new knowledge and skills.
  • We strongly believe in doing and experiencing, rather than telling about the content of training, which makes all our trainings active in nature.
  • In order to guarantee the quality of the training, we apply a maximum group size of eight participants for the training, so that we can guarantee the learning effect and efficiency.

Language

The training is provided by default in Dutch. The trainer controls the English language. English course material can be used. When registering at least 3 participants, the training can also be provided entirely in English.
