Course BIM Management

After following our BIM Management course, you will be able to appoint the BIM targets for your organisation and translate them into framework conditions (and requirements) for the internal and external organisations. You will also learn to monitor these goals and to control the implementation of BIM.

The BIM Manager focuses mainly on the policy issues and implementation pieces at the level of the standing organization. This BIM Management course provides insight and gives explanations on the various possibilities that BIM offers. You get the right knowledge of the BIM process, taught for your role as a BIM Manager. You will experience the opportunities that this new way of working entails. The training is aimed at answering the (policy) questions about the implementation of BIM at the level of the company.

Objective of the BIM course

You develop a helicopter view of the BIM landscape. You are able to describe the BIM process in the main lines and you are aware of the (UN) possibilities. You make informed choices about the purchase of hard-and software, training and the adjustments to the IT infrastructure necessary for the implementation of BIM. In addition, you are able to support the BIM Directors (project leaders) in the BIM aspects of their task. You will also get a clear overview of the additional Exchange possibilities with chain partners and the possibilities of the Clash control.

The following topics are discussed during training:

  • Information technology in the BIM process.
  • The do's and don'ts of the BIM process.
  • The contract formation in the building process.
  • The changes in the functions in the building process.
  • The characteristics of specific BIMtools.
  • The organizational component of BIM.
  • The importance of a real delivery of the virtual building.
  • The BIM tools per function.
  • The importance of good IT infrastructure, also for communication with the chain partners.

The subjects are treated from the theoretical framework. You will receive various practical tips and advice when it comes to the implementation of BIM in your own organization.

This training is aimed at upcoming or already started BIM Managers, but is also very suitable for users and project Managers who want to stand out as a BIM Manager in the market.

Until 1 July 2020, this training will only be carried out virtually. An online course, also called Virtual Classroom training, is the same as a classroom training: you make the same assignments, you have contact with your teacher and fellow students and you receive the same course material. The only difference is that you follow the training from home or office via a video connection.

Before the start of the online course you will receive a personal email containing all the information you need to participate in the course.
