Manage by numbers for the operational manager

As an executive or manager of a department, it is important that you have a grip on business processes. To achieve a better connection between organisational objectives and the objectives of your own department, you need insight in the drafting of well-formulated objectives. This makes it clear to everyone in your department what everyone's role is to make an effective contribution to the achievement of stated objectives.

In training on figures for the operational manager we look not only at the skills of the employees themselves, but also on jóúw skills, which are summarized in a competency profile. It is certainly a must for those managers who already work with a tool such as POP and plan to start working on improving their own management skills in the coming period. Understanding your own competencies and those of your employees is important. We'll get started in the training with the following questions:

  • How do you set your target in a SMART way?
  • What focus do you bring to the litigation within your department?
  • How do you base decisions on, for example, deploying capacities?
  • How do you set up execution plans?
  • What is the relationship between HRM, finance, processes and innovation?
  • How do you correctly explain the department policy?

This training is an optimal mix of theory and above all a lot of practice exercises. The teacher will always initiate each subject by using the most current state of the art as regards the internationally accepted management literature. At the start of the training, a joint consultation with the students will determine which of the attendees can insert an interesting case, which will (will) be central to the depth of the substance throughout the course. Right from the start of the training you will learn to develop new skills to map the department you lead to in a more insightful way. We use instruments such as EFQM and the Balanced scorecard, which make it possible for the manager to make choices on which aspects of the business management you can apply within the Focus department.

We then stand still when measuring the points of attention and collect the data in a systematic way, so that goal and realization can be effectively related to each other. The trainer will then give you individual assignments to practice the scholar in your own organisation and discuss any experienced problems with you as a student. After following this exciting training you have expanded your management skills in a short time with a large arsenal of new techniques.

This training is ideally suited for executives and managers who control a department.
